Department of CSE, Britannia University had successfully organized a Seminar on “Pattern Recognition Techniques, Technology and Applications” on 14th September 2023 at 11:00 am at the university campus. Honorable Chairman of the Department of CSE, Mr. Mozammel Haque was present as the Session Chair. The two-hour long session was hosted and conducted by Mr. Md. Zahidur Rahman, a faculty member of Department of CSE. At the beginning, the honorable host discussed the purpose and overall construction of the event.

In the first session of the seminar, Speakers discussed in brief the Pattern Recognition domain, its importance, and techniques. They also discussed in detail the major techniques in pattern recognition such as Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning, and Reinforcement Learning. They discussed the phases, algorithms, and examples of these learning methods.

In the second session, Speakers discussed in brief available types of patterns with examples. They discussed briefly textual patterns, visual patterns, audio patterns, numerical patterns, etc. Later, they discussed the pattern recognition process and challenges considering some real-world examples.

In the final session, Speakers discussed in brief some popular applications of Pattern Recognition such as Audio and Voice Recognition, Face Recognition, Fingerprint Recognition, etc. They discussed in detail of these application’s development process with some real-world examples.

The Session Chair, Honorable Chairman of the Department of CSE, Britannia University, Mr. Mozammel  Haque thanked the participants for joining the seminar. He briefly discussed the scopes and opportunities in the pattern recognition arena. He also inspired students to work with the current trend of pattern recognition applications and encouraged students to be sincere and focused on their careers from now on.

The session ended with thanks to the students and guests by the host Mr. Md. Zahidur Rahman, Faculty, Department of CSE.
