"MY LIFE, MY GAME

I may lose today, I might be in pain

But I’ll be back tomorrow to play again

I live my life like a badminton game

I play for fun and not for fame"

Sometimes we may lose in any step toward the journey of our life. We may find ourselves in a hopeless position. We have to come back again in the race. Our life is troublesome with lots of problems. We as human beings have to deal with these problems in a positive way. We need some refreshments to help ourselves in this journey and need to be in a festive mood. Indeed sports are not only means of recreational facilities but also mediums of enriching ourselves with proper positive thoughts. 

To provide our students with the opportunity to have refreshment and to be motivated in academic life the Department of CSE of Britannia University with the assistance of Britannia University Computer Club (BUCC) has successfully arranged "CSE Badminton Tournament (CSEBT) 2021" as a part of "BU Winter Games 2021". Mr. Md. Zahidur Rahman, faculty member of the Department of CSE and Advisor, BUCC, patronized the whole event with necessary advice from Mr. Mozammel Haque, Chairman, Department of CSE.

Students from several batches spontaneously participated in the tournament. Randomly 8 teams were formed from the students who had made registration for the tournament. Each team consists of 2 team members. After forming the teams the total match fixture was prepared. Maintaining all of the standard rules and regulations the badminton tournament has been arranged.

In a festive mood the tournament was inaugurated at 10:00 am on 21/12/2021 in the local field beside the varsity campus. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya, honorable Vice Chancellor (in-charge), Dr. Milon Hossain, Treasurer (in-charge), Dr. Anwar Zahid, Registrar, Mr. Mozammel Haque, Chairman of the Department of CSE of Britannia University has visited the tournament to motivate the participants. The students and faculty members of the Department of CSE also attend the tournament as spectators. 

In the first round of the tournament 8 teams were separated into 2 groups. 4 matches played in the group stage following the knockout system on 21st December. The winner from each qualified for the semifinals following the knockout system.  Semifinals and final match was held on 22nd December. The winners of the semifinals played in the final. Team Vagabond [Rohoul Kuddus Riaz (Spring 19) & Sagor Mia (Fall 19)] won the final match and became Champions of the "CSE badminton Tournament 2021"; Team Noob Squad (Md. Rakibul Hassan (Spring 20) & Khandakar Arifur Rahman (Fall 21) ) got the Runner-up place. Rohoul Kuddus Riaz (Spring 19) selected as the best player of the tournament.

Mr. Mozammel Haque thanked the attendees for their presence and participants for their participation. He thanked the computer club for the beautiful event and wished that, this of event would be arranged frequently in near future.
