Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) in association with University Grant Commission (UGC) have successfully arranged a Campus Activation program for the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2021 on Sunday, 12th September, 2021 at 4 PM using the Zoom Meeting Platform. The one and half hour long program has been joined by former winners of “NASA Space App Challenge”, mentors of several teams from different educational institutions, judges of the competition and other people related with the “NASA Space Apps Challenge”. Mr. Mohammad Jahed, Lecturer, Department of CSE, Britannia University attended the program as one of the distinguished speakers on behalf of Britannia University.

Ms. Farhana A. Rahman, Senior Vice President of BASIS delivered a welcome speech welcoming all of the participants. She discussed overall aims and objectives of the “NASA Space Apps Challenge 2021” and instructed the participants to motivate the students who have made registration to take part in the competition. Her welcome speech was followed with the informative speech from Mr. Mohammad Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan, Director (Additional Charge), Information Management, Communication and Training Division, University Grant Commission of Bangladesh.

Dr. Uzzal Kumar Acharjee, Professor and Former Chairman, Dept. of CSE & Director, ICT cell, Jagannath University in his long speech thanked BASIS along with UGC for arranging and inviting him in the Campus Activation program.

Renowned faculty members from different educational institutions such as Dr. Md. Anwarul Abedin, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, DUET, Dr. Mohammad Sanaul Rabbi, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, CUET,  Dr. Shah Murtaza Rashid Al Masud, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Pacific, Mr. Al Imtiaz Assistant Professor and Head Department of CSE, University of Information Technology and Sciences, Mr. Mohammad Khaled Sohel, Assistant Professor, Daffodil International University, Mr. Md. Azmain Yakin Srizon, Lecturer, Computer Science and Engineering, RUET, Ms. Faria Tabassum, Lecturer Department of CSE, Canadian University of Bangladesh, Mr. Ikbal Ahmed, Lecturer, Department of CSE, CCN University of Science and Technology, Mr. Abdul Wasud, Lecturer, Rajshahi Cantonment Public School and College delivered their valuable speeches to motivate the participants of the “NASA Space Apps Challenge 2021”.

Mr. Mohammad Jahed, Lecturer, Department of CSE, Britannia University had a short speech in which he tried to motivate the participants. He informed them about the team from Britannia University which is going to participate in the grand competition.

Mr. Ariful Hasan Opu, Adviser, NASA Space Apps Challenge 2021 thanked distinguished speakers from different educational institutions and participants of the “NASA Space Apps Challenge 2021”. He made a summary of the speeches delivered by the speakers. After his speech Mr. Mohammad Mahdee Uz Zaman, Adviser, NASA Space Apps Challenge 2021 introduced the participants with the informative website of NASA and instructed them to receive information related with the competitions from the website. In the question answer session he answered all of the queries from the participants. After the Q/A session the presenter finished the program with a vote of thanks.
