Department of CSE, Britannia University Organized a Webinar on “Beginners Guide to Freelancing”
Department of CSE, Britannia University successfully organized a webinar on “Beginners Guide to Freelancing” on 16th August, 2021 keeping the views of engaging students to develop their skills and creating opportunities to prepare themselves for the global job market by applying their skills and knowledge to freelancing besides their regular academic activities. In the session, Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya, Vice Chancellor (In-charge) was present as Chief Guest, Dr. Md. Milan Hossain, Director, IQAC of the University was present as Special Guest. The session was chaired by Mr. Mozammel Haque, Head, Department of CSE. Mr. Tiful Islam Shovon Khan, Content Marketer and Web Developer, LightBlue Content Limited, United Kingdom was present as keynote Speaker. All faculty members and students of CSE Department participated in the webinar.
The webinar was coordinated and hosted jointly by Mr. Sheikh Shahidul Islam and Mr. Masum Bakaul. Mr. Md. Zahidur Rahman, Faculty, Department of CSE provided technical support for this webinar.
At the beginning of the session, Mr. Masum Bakaul, Lecturer, Dept .of CSE introduced the keynote speaker to all participants. He invited honorable Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) of Britannia University, Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya to deliver his welcome speech. He delivered his speech focusing on freelancing as an alternative earning source by sharing his own experience working as a freelancer in the early stage. After that, Dr. Md. Milan Hossain provided his speech mentioning freelancing could be taken to develop skills in parallel to regular study. He also mentioned statistics on how much freelancing contributes to the revenue of the country every year.
As the Keynote Speaker, Mr. Tiful Islam shared his practical experiences working as freelancer nearly two decades. He focused on various issues including how a beginner should start, where to start, what sorts of skills needed etc. Mr. Tiful also provided some guidelines towards participants on how they can develop their career as a freelancer in particular fields. In the question and answer session, the keynote speaker answered various questions of participants regarding freelancing.
After the end of the session, the Session Chair, Mr. Mozammel Haque, Head, Department of CSE gave his ending speech. He thanked the keynote speaker and other participants for attending the webinar. He made a summary on several skills and aspects mentioned by the speaker to be achieved to become successful in developing a career in the freelancing sector. He instructed students to grab and utilize the opportunity to develop their skills.
The session was ended with a vote of thanks from Mr. Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Assistant Controller of Examinations and Resource Person, Department of CSE. He mentioned key points of all previous speakers and he thanked all the speakers and participants for joining the session.
