8th Curriculum Committee Meeting, School of Law (SOL), BU
An online meeting of the Curriculum Committee, School of Law (SOL), BU was held on 4th August 2021, Wednesday at 02:30 PM via Google Meet in the presence of distinguished expert members for the purpose of finalization of the OBE Based Trimester Revised Curriculum and OBE Based Bi-Semester Curriculum.
In the meeting, as Chief Guest there was present Honourable Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) of Britannia University, Professor Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya. The Expert Members of the meeting were Prof. Dr. Sarkar Ali Akkas, Dean, Faculty of Law, Jagannath University and Prof. Dr. Nakib M. Nasrullah, Department of Law, University of Dhaka. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Md. Milan Hossain, Dean & Chairman, School of Law, BU. There were also present Shafiqul Haque, Admin Director, Britannia University and distinguished faculty members of the Department of Law, Britannia University as the members of the Curriculum Committee.
For 8th Curriculum Meeting, there were four agenda to be discussed and those were Approval of the Proceedings of the 7th Curriculum Committee meeting; Finalization of the OBE Based Trimester Revised Curriculum; Finalization of the OBE Based Bi-Semester Curriculum and Miscellaneous. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Md. Milan Hossain, Dean & Chairman, School of Law, BU welcomed all the expert members, distinguished guest and respected members of the meeting and started the virtual meeting. Then the Member Secretary of the Curriculum Committee, Tanjila Tamanna, Lecturer, Department of Law, BU, recited the proceedings of the meeting of the 7th Curriculum Committee and the proceeding was unanimously approved with minor suggestions and corrections by the expert members and other present members of the meeting.
Then following the agenda no. 2 and 3 of the meeting, Md. Milan Hossain presented the new curricula prepared by the Curriculum Committee in the light of the guidelines of the Bangladesh National Qualification Framework (BNQF), University Grants Commission (UGC) and Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) before the experts. Expert Member of the meeting. Dr. Sarkar Ali Akkas and Dr. Nakib Mohammad Nasrullah proposed suggestions and corrections on various aspects of the curriculum and also provided significant guidance for further development of the OBE Curriculum. The rest of the members of the meeting, agreed with the views and suggestions of the experts and expressed their commitment to work on the curriculum as per the recommendations that were given by the expert members during the meeting.
The Chief Guest of the meeting, honourable Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) of Britannia University Professor Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya thanked the expert members and other present members of the meeting. He acclaimed the dynamic work of the Curriculum Committee of the Department of Law specially for preparing the OBE Based Trimester Revised Curriculum and OBE Based Bi-Semester Curriculum and assured the overall cooperation from the University. For closing remarks, Dr. Md. Milan Hossain, Dean & Chairman, School of Law, BU expressed his gratitude to the expert members, distinguished guest and present members for their kind presence and hoped to keep the activities of the Curriculum Committee to improve the quality of both the curricula. He sought the cooperation of all in this regard and announced the end of the meeting.
