INTRA UNIVERSITY INDOOR GAMING COMPETITION-2020: TREASURE HUNTING
The arena of academic study of CSE department, where students’ enthusiasm, vigor are enervated because of hard and fast adherence to study consisting of coding, mathematical conundrum and other technical knowledge based education, requires a systematic arrangements of proper refreshment which are easy to customize in the field of CSE and which focus not only to entertain students but also help them to develop their mental skill and problem solving skill, help them to work in a team and mostly to make their body and mind refreshed.
Treasure Hunting or Scavenger Hunting is a type of entertaining game that will ensures the above mentioned requirements to qualify. That’s why department of CSE, Britannia University arranged a Treasure Hunting Gaming Competition as a section of indoor games for female students in the BU CSE Carnival 2020. Female students spontaneously took part in the competition under the supervision of Ms. Rita Akter, Lecturer of Department of CSE. The whole treasure hunting competitions consisted of 6 steps. Each step was arranged in such a way that requires proper assistantship among the group members, high thinking skill, proper mathematical conundrum solving capability of the participants and other knowledge based virtue. Different types of encoding and decoding techniques such Caesar Chiper, Hill Chiper, Graphical Representation, Symbolic representation, Encoding with verse from the poem is incorporated in the whole game.
21 participants from different semester are divided in 7 groups to make isolated teams. Each group selected team leader of their own to take decision in a systematic way. Mr. Mozammel Haque, Chairman, Department of CSE, declared the commencement of the competition by delivering 1st clue to each team. There was a festive mode among the students who are moving to and fro to find the next clue thus making the whole campus cheerful. The clues were distributed in different spots which locations are encoded in the clue. After 2 hours long efforts of the participants several groups fully or partially solved the conundrum and reached the final destination. A Jury board was formed to analyze the finding of the participants, to listen their explanation and to declare the winner. After a long discussion the champions and runner up were selected. At the prize giving ceremony the department felt honored to have Md Aminul Islam Tutul, Honorable Chairman, Comilla Adarsha Sadar, as chief guest. He was delighted to enjoy the whole prize giving ceremony. He delivers champion trophy to Shova, Nowshin and Juma for their outstanding performance in solving the riddle and runner-up trophy to Kazi Iffat Sultana, Nadira, and Shahnaz for their enthusiastic effort. Really, the treasure hunting competition will remain evergreen in the memory of the students.
