Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Britannia University had organized its first carnival entitled ‘CSE CARNIVAL -2020’ on January 7-9, 2020 in Britannia University, Paduar Bazar, Bishwa Road, Cumilla  as a part of its co-curricular activities to encourage  the students to engage themselves in different events related to different sectors of knowledge and to help them to develop their technical skill, analyzing skill, presentation skill etc. along with the creation of an environment where the students and faculties go out of the conventional environment of education and fill themselves with enthusiasm, refreshment and new rhythms. This 3-day long carnival consisted of several events such as Inter University Programming Contest, Intra University Project Showcasing competition, Intra University Indoor Gaming Competition, Intra University Idea Sharing Competition, PC Gaming Contest. Several teams from different reputed Universities such as Comilla University, Noakhali Science & Technology University (NSTU), Islamic University of Technology (IUT), United International University (UIU), BRAC University, CCN University of Science and Technology, Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB) participated in the Inter University Programming Contest event to make the event competitive and successful. Intra University Project Showcasing Competition event which was consisted of hardware segment and software segment promoted the students to implement their ideas in hardware and software platform and make them familiar with the present fields of technology. Beside this, Intra University Idea Sharing Competition event was open for all of the students of the University to promote them to develop and exchange their ideas on the thematic area entitled ‘Integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Bangladesh for sustainable development’ and to encourage them to assist the government to achieve its goal to make ‘Digital Bangladesh’ on a sustainable basis. Students from different departments of the University spontaneously participated in this event to share their ideas on the thematic area. Intra University Indoor Gaming Competition event which mainly focused participation of female students in different indoor games like Carom, Treasure Hunt, and musical chair, delivered a festive environment among the female students and provided them proper refreshment. PC gaming contest was open for all, organized successfully with the participation of the students from University of Rajshahi, several reputed school and college of Cumilla. The initiatives taken by the Department of CSE, Britannia University brought a festive mood among the students and the participants. The presence of our honorable guests in the prize giving ceremony made the event more colorful. On the first day, Honourable Chairman, Zilla Parishad, Cumilla, Rear Admiral (Rtd.) Abu Taher graced the inaugural session as Chief Guest, while honourable Chairman, Cumilla Adarsha Sadar,  Md Aminul Islam Tutul was present on second day as Chief Guest; and Tahseen Bahar Shuchona, General Secretary, Jagrato Manobikota, Cumilla was present on final day as Chief Guest. The Program was presided by our honorable VC, Professor Tofail Ahmed, Ph.D.  Honourable Dean, School of Business, Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya and Honourable Dean, School of Law, Dr. MD. Milan Hossain were present as special guest. Besides, Honourable Registrar Dr. S. J. Anwar Zahid, Director Admin Syed Shafiqul Hoque and all the faculty members were present in the event as guest.
