Workshop on "Techniques of Developing Presentation Skills for Law students"
A virtual workshop on "Techniques of Developing Presentation Skills for Law Students" was organized by the Department of Law, Britannia University, Cumilla on 19th May 2021, Wednesday at 2.00 pm through the Google Meet.
The session was enriched with the presence of Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya, honorable Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) Britannia University as Chief Guest. The session was chaired by Dr. Md. Milan Hossain, Chairman, Dept. of Law & Dean of School of Law, Britannia University, and inaugurated with the welcome speech by Asma Akter, Lecturer, School of Law, Britannia University. Mr. Tohfaturr Rabbi Piyal, Director of Operations, Brainyard Academy of Smart Skill, Actisvist,Initiative of Change International, President, Chittagong Speech Masters Club, was invited as Keynote Speaker. All the faculty members of the Department of Law and the students of the LLB(Hon's) & LLM program (both current & alumni) of the Department of Law, BU participated in the workshop. The workshop was hosted by Mohammad Motasim Billah , Lecturer Department of Law.
Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya, honorable Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) of Britannia University emphasized the significance and different dimensions of presentation skills of law students for their academic and processional development and encouraged to arrange this kind of workshop in the upcoming days.
The keynote speaker broadly described how to develop the skill of a good presentation and how to make oneself for well-prepared for a presentation. He has elaborated the structure of scripts preparation, verbal and nonverbal aspects of communications and suggested the techniques of overcoming anxiety, fear, lack of confidence etc. In the question-answering session, the students asked various questions to meet their points of interests and concerns. The session Chair, Dr. Md. Milan Hossain, Chairman, Dept. of Law & Dean, School of Law expressed his gratitude to the keynote speaker and emphasized on the important aspects of good presentation and its significance for academic and professional development. It was a great session for the students of the department of law, Britannia University. The students opines that they feel benefited from participating in the session. Finally, the session Chair urged to arrange such a session with regular intervals. All the students and the faculty members also conceded with this tremendous decision.
