“Career in Digital Marketing”
The students of BBA and MBA Programs got a great opportunity to attend the 3 hours long online workshop on “Career in Digital Marketing” that was organized by the Department of Business Administration (DBA) under the School of Business (SoB) of Britannia University through Zoom platform on Sunday dated August 29, 2020 from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya, honorable Dean of the School of Business and Chairman of the Department of Business Administration chaired the session and greeted the enrolled students and the resource person Mr. Mohammad Abdullah al Muhin, Senior Brand Manager (Digital Marketing), Square Food and Beverage Ltd. Lecturer Mrs. Farzana Tabassum hosted the session and acted as moderator.
Lecturer Mrs. Tania Akter welcomed the resource person and the students for joining the workshop. She also shared her thoughts about digital marketing and gave an idea about how we are gradually involving in digital media in the current pandemic situation.
Lecturer Mrs. Farzana Tabassum shared the merits of digital marketing that has no limit of boundary and time. She also appreciated the interest of students regarding digitalization and asking for feedback from them at any time during workshop.
Speaker Mr. Mohammad Abdullah al Muhin started his presentation with warm greetings to the students and felt very optimistic for the present and future job sectors for digital marketing in Bangladesh. His key points were about digital marketing, different areas of digital marketing, common digital marketing professions and the necessary skills to develop for the job sectors.
Mr. Muhin defined in an easiest way that digital marketing is some marketing activities which are done digitally but in creative and comfortable way. He justified the reasons behind building career in digital marketing one by one i.e. grasping the opportunity by developing the digital skills gap in Bangladesh, versatility, evolving industry, earnings, creativity, training at one’s own pace and working with different people every day The students asked many creative questions and conveyed their opinions with the resource person eagerly. The speaker also elaborated the areas (Search Engine Optimization, Content marketing, Social media marketing, Pay Per Click, Affiliate marketing, Native advertising, Marketing automation, email marketing, Online PR and Sponsored content) of digital marketing specifically and practically. The interested students made their thoughts regarding these discussed issues clearly. For concerning the students, Mr. Mohammad Abdullah al Muhin identified the professions of digital marketing in different sectors like Content Strategist, Content Marketing Manager, SEO Specialist, Social Media Manager, Paid Ads Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Business, Online Entrepreneurship and Freelancing. The students are suggested to maintain some tips, courses and training for building skills to choose the career in digital marketing from him. As the resource person is an entrepreneur with his own Digital Marketing firm he encouraged the efficient and enthusiastic students to contact with him for any convenient jobs regarding digital marketing at any time without any hesitations. The students were so much excited and thanked the School of Business for organizing this type of workshop and showed their keen interest in building their career in this sphere after graduating BBA from Britannia University.
In the concluding session, Prof. Sarbabidya was thankful to Mr. Mohammad Abdullah al Muhin for taking excellent session and invited him to visit the BU campus in future. He delivered his valuable speech regarding several upcoming issues of digital marketing in the current scenario. He also assured the students that SoB will organize more workshops to enrich their knowledge that will be helpful in their future professional life.
