He has diverse interests in English Languages and Literatures. His area of research interest includes SLA, Using technology in ELT, Teaching methodology, English Language Policy and Planning, Syllabus Design and Curriculum Development, Feminism, Cultural Studies, Diaspora literature, Modern and American literature along with Romantic and Metaphysical poetry.

Alam was born in his Grandfather’s house on 25 November, 1982 at Sreepur, a large village in Gazipur district. He is the youngest son of Md. Ruhul Amin and Monowara Begum. He belongs to a distinguished Muslim Family .He had been an outstanding sportsman in his youth during his school and university life and was awarded many prizes for his excellent performances. He used to play Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball etc in his college and University life. He has represented his department at University Games and Sports competition and gained many accolades. He is very much extrovert, sociable and altruistic. This versatile genius person is a poet, translator, good researcher and social worker. His 8 research articles and a book have been published from different world ranking journals. He has engaged him in different social services and voluntary organisations and relentlessly working for the betterment of the destitute people. In his youth he was very studious and hard working. He got Government scholarships in every stages of academic career from primary school to Tertiary levels. He spent major parts of his life in West Bagichagaon, Comilla since 1994 to 2015.He started his higher studies in 2001at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet. After finishing his Post Graduation he had returned to Comilla in 2009 and started his teaching career as Lecturer in English at Sonar Bangla College, Burichong, Comilla. He taught English in two colleges prior to joining at Britannia University. In 1 June, 2013 he joined at Britannia University. He is the founding faculty of this University as well as English Department who initiated both of the Honors and Masters Classes. Apart from teaching he is a good organizer .He took the responsibilities of two clubs and performed the duties as Assistant Proctor of Britanniia University very successfully since 2015 to 2019. He is also a good reciter and singer. He regularly writes in newspaper on recent Socio-Political issues .In his leisure time he writes, studies and some extent serves the ill-luck and deprived people .This brilliant man wants to bring a timely change in our educational system by research and he expects one day Bangladesh will reach into the pinnacle of success in terms of education and the dream of Banga Bondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would come into reality. Alam was very much extra ordinary in his extracurricular activities during his student life. Now he is also leading some of the socio-cultural organizations. They are focused as follows:
Extra-curricular activities:
- Achieved award in National science and Technology week 1997, 1999 and 2001 respectively in chemistry, applied physics and Biology. Where the position was first in Chemistry and Applied Physics and Second in Biology.
- Successfully Completed Basic training programs from Moinamoti Regiment, Comilla as BNCC Cadet in 1997 and 2000 respectively.
- Achieved a Runner up award in the first English Debate competition of SUST organized by youth wave in 2005.
- Achieved award in shot put and discus in 2007 at Annual Sports Competition of Shah Jalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet.
- Being an active member and organizer of different clubs at Shah Jalal University, I organized and performed many cultural cum social programs at SUST, Sylhet.

Alam began his schooling at Cumilla Police Lines Primary School and achieved Chittagong divisional scholarship in 1992 .Later he attended Comilla Zilla School and spent his College days in Comilla Victoria Govt. College. He passed SSC from Comilla Zilla School and HSC from Comilla Victoria Govt. College obtaining first division with star marks in 1998 and 2000 respectively. He then enrolled into the English Department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) for his BA (Hons) and MA Degrees in English Language and Literature and achieved first class marks in both graduate and post graduate programs. He participated many national and international seminars, workshops and symposiums around the country for his professional development. Now he is doing his M.Phil research in ELT and Applied Linguistics at Jahangir Nagar University (JU) Dhaka. He has extensive training in ELT and Classroom teaching Methodology.
Alam has over 10 years teaching experience both in colleges and University. He started his teaching career as Lecturer in English at Sonar Bangla College, Cumilla in 2009.He had been there for nearly 2 years. He also served in Mehnaz Hossen Meem Adarsha College prior to joining at Britannia University Comilla on 1 June 2013.During his stay in this University he has been experiencing several things Such as:

- Worked as Chairman (In Charge) of English Department at B U for one month (1.6.13 to last week of June 13)
- Have been serving as an Assistant Proctor at Britannia University since 1 July 2015 to till date.

Professional Development and Training Seminars:
- As the founding member of First Syllabus Design Committee (Undergraduate and Graduate level) for the Department of English at Britannia University, Comilla in 2013, I successfully accomplished a great job with the experts from DU and internal Professors and formulated the B U English Program’s Curriculum and sent it to UGC for Approval .
- As an Advisor of Reminiscence, the first Literary Magazine of English Department and Britannia University, Comilla, Published in August, 2015, I performed a tremendous work.
- Presented an article in a seminar before the BU Students and faculty members on William Shakespeare on 24, April 2018 in the University Premises and also supervised staging a drama on The Merchant of Venice.
As a supervisor of research project, I have already supervised more than 50 thesis projects during the last 5 years for the students of graduate and undergraduate levels and in current semester another 6 thesis works are supervised by me at Britannia University, Comilla.
